Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Structured Cabling Estimator to join our team in Greer, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating project costs, timelines, and materials to ensure smooth execution and alignment with organizational goals. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
• Develop accurate project estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment costs, based on client specifications.
• Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to gather essential project requirements and ensure comprehensive proposals.
• Collaborate with clients to understand technical needs and address inquiries related to estimates and project scopes.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work to clarify project requirements and guide installation teams.
• Utilize industry knowledge and technical documentation to interpret blueprints and calculate project costs.
• Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project details and ensure alignment with client expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of project data and tracking for seamless coordination with engineering and estimating teams.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure project goals are met.
• Participate in vendor consultations to obtain the most cost-effective solutions for project needs.
• Support special assignments and adapt to evolving priorities as directed by leadership.• Proven experience in estimating within the low-voltage telecommunications or structured cabling industry.
• Ability to interpret technical blueprints, drawings, and documentation for project planning.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, including time management and multitasking.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal teams.
• Familiarity with public utility, government, and commercial project requirements.
• Knowledge of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
• Preferred certifications from recognized industry organizations, such as CommScope or Panduit.
