Summary:
The Fox Operations Supervisor is dedicated to fulfilling the Jewish Community Center’s (the J’s) mission of enriching lives, building community, promoting inclusivity, and creating meaningful Jewish experiences. The Supervisor proactively collaborates with departments to create and implement strategies to ensure the buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest standard while ensuring excellent customer service. Responsibilities include the overall oversight and management of the laundry, custodian and operational teams.
Responsibilities:
Hire, lead, manage, and supervise team members to set and achieve goals while supporting their development through ongoing feedback, performance reviews, managing payroll software, and providing training. This includes ensuring appropriate scheduling of the team and directing work including modernization and excellent customer service.
The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining excellent customer service in all aspects of maintenance and operations. This includes ensuring internal and external customers, members and participants have well-maintained, clean and appropriately staffed facilities.
Foster a collaborative culture by partnering across departments and within the Building and Grounds team to identify, prioritize and meet facility needs and organizational mission.
Serve as an onsite contact for contractors as needed.
In conjunction with the Operations Director, provide input into and stay within the annual budget.
Be responsible for operation of physical building and grounds, and departmental equipment including scheduling and ensuring all routine building cleaning standards are met and following up on all phases of departmental work.
Maintain written records.
Be responsible for reports on purchases, deliveries, and expenditures.
Issue requisitions and ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the Director of Operations on all room rentals and usage to ensure appropriate set-up and breakdown of rooms. Directly assist as needed.
Oversee all custodian and operations services during open hours. Directly assist as needed.
Schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage.
Ensure laundry is washed, sorted, and folded.
Ensure laundry is collected and delivered to/from various points within our facility including the women's locker rooms.
Train staff to ensure the safe operation of the necessary equipment to perform tasks (clothes washer, clothes dryer, elevator, etc.).
Maintain general cleanliness tasks during operating hours such as restocking paper towels, wiping down the counters, picking up used towels, cleaning unexpected spills, etc.
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout work area.
Provide outstanding customer service to our staff, members and customers in all interactions.
Responsible for inventory and ordering of all laundry and custodial supplies.
Support the development, documenting, and executing the policies and procedures of the Building and Grounds team. At the Fox building, lead the continual improvement of internal processes, ongoing updating of policies and procedures and evaluation of the effectiveness of departmental goals against projected outcomes and timelines while responding to current trends and opportunities.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Building and Grounds Department at Fox in relation to staffing, operations, room set up and cleaning as needed.
Be available and responsive for building wide events and emergencies, including evenings and weekends.
Support both J locations as needed.
Report any issue that you can’t address but requires attention.

Qualifications:
Three to five years of experience in managing and developing staff is required.
Experience in building facilities, operations or custodial services is required.
High School Diploma/GED required; Related College or Technical degree preferred.
Current valid drivers license is required for use of Agency vehicles. Must obtain within 30 days of employment if do not currently have.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred. If not, will train within 90 days.
Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred. If not, will train.
Knowledge of building construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Ability to effectively use business automation and payroll software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and databases.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including completing detailed repair reports.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
Must have the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other J staff, lay leaders and customers.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including ability to be approachable while also holding people accountable.
Must be attentive to details with outstanding internal and external customer service skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate across departments and with members, external customers, and vendors.
Flexible schedule to allow for weekend and evening work as needed.
Able work set up and tear down for events. May require adjusting hours or time outside of normal business hours as needed

Physical Demands:
Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening[RP1] .
Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing with the ability to read and understand written material and instructions and write detailed repair reports.

Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects not to exceed 50 pounds.
Requires the ability to climb and work with the use of a ladder up to 25 ft in elevation.
Requires the ability to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
