Job Summary:

Join us in shaping the future of aviation! Objective Area Solutions (OAS) is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to enhance our team. As a Network Security Engineer, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure. Join us and be at the forefront of safeguarding our network against cyber threats. This position is 100% on-site in Anchorage, Alaska; we provide relocation assistance.

This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. In addition to providing air traffic control and safety oversight for civilian aviation, the FAA also works in lockstep with the Department of Defense and other government agencies to ensure the security of our nation. A key component of that coordination involves the collaborative use of aviation tools and data.

Key Responsibilities:

A successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience and be proficient in:

Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, with a focus on cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Design, implement, manage, and support enterprise-level IP networks, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171 standards.

Apply routing and switch design principles to optimize network performance while addressing NIST requirements.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address network infrastructure needs while considering cybersecurity implications.

Required Qualifications:

B.S. in an engineering, information systems, or related discipline (Cisco Certified Network Professional, plus 5 additional years of experience could be substituted for a bachelor's degree)

Active secret security clearance (preferred)

Willing to relocate within 30 days of offer acceptance

Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and interpreting NIST documentation

Knowledge of network security protocols and technologies

Excellent verbal and written communications

Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills

Experience conducting research for technical systems

Must have a current, valid REAL ID or US Passport, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.

US citizenship is a requirement for this position. Sponsorship will not be provided for any foreign nationals to obtain a work visa or permanent residency.

Work Requirements: Onsite

Main Office: 100% on-site in Anchorage, Alaska

Travel: < 50% (day trips regionally and occasional travel to remote locations)
