Job Description
Corvid Technologies is expanding our onsite team in support of a Navy customer in the Dahlgren, VA area. We are seeking an engineer to support aerospace and guided weapon programs through the development and application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies. This role will leverage MBSE techniques to enhance the design, development, and deployment of critical weapon systems.
Responsibilities may include:
Create and maintain system models, architectures, and digital twins using industry-standard tools
Define requirements, interfaces, and behaviors within a structured MBSE framework
Support trade studies, analysis, and validation to ensure design feasibility and effectiveness
Collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure model alignment with program objectives
Contribute to system integration, testing, and verification using model-based techniques
Document and communicate model findings, results, and recommendations through reports and presentations
Requirements:
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Systems or Electrical Engineering (related Engineering and STEM disciplines accepted) and at least 3 years of experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
Proficiency in MBSE tools such as Cameo, SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar applications
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and digital modeling techniques with a preference for experience applying them in the Aerospace and Defense industry
Candidate must demonstrate experience with simulation, analysis, and trade studies for the development, improvement and sustainment of complex systems
Candidate with knowledge of Model-Based Design (MBD), Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulations are preferred
Certification in INCOSE, MBSE, or Systems Engineering is a plus
Why Corvid?
Founded in 2004, we are a group of over 300 engineers and scientists, about three-quarters of whom hold master's degrees or PhDs, that provide end-to-end solutions, including concept development, design and optimization, prototype build, test, and manufacture. We leverage the predictive capabilities of our high-fidelity computational physics solvers, indigenous massively parallel supercomputer system, prototyping plant, and ballistics and mechanics lab to investigate a variety of high-rate physics phenomena.
The results are complex engineering solutions for a range of applications: aircraft, ballistic missile defense, cybersecurity, motorsports, armor development, biological systems, and missile and warhead design and development. These results are achieved with optimal design and cost efficiency due to the predictive capability of Corvid's tools and our in-house, end-to-end integrated approach, which differentiates Corvid from the market.
We value our people and offer employees a broad range of benefits. Benefits for full-time employees include:
Paid gym membership
Flexible schedules
Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance including Medical, Dental, and Vision
401(k) match up to 6%
