We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all financial operations of our manufacturing company, with a particular focus on international procurement of raw materials. This role is responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis. Overseeing an accounting team of 4.
Skills and Experience:
· Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
· Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation, particularly related to imported raw materials.
· Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
· Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
· Monitor and manage foreign currency transactions and their impact on financial reporting.
· Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to understand and forecast material costs and supply chain impacts.
Job Functions:
· Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
· Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
· Evaluate and implement financial systems and process improvements.
· Work closely with outside accounting firm to prepare annual tax returns.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and international purchasing.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with SAGE a PLUS!
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience with foreign currency transactions and import/export regulations.
Compensation and Benefits:
· Salary: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 based on experience Bonus up to 10,000.00
