About the Role:

The Mammography Technologist plays a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer by performing high-quality mammographic imaging. This position requires a deep understanding of mammography techniques and patient care to ensure accurate results and a comfortable experience for patients. The technologist will work closely with radiologists to assist in diagnosing breast conditions, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community. Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Registry in Radiography in good standing with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiology Technologists).

Must pass the registry for Mammography within one year of hire date.

Must possess American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a clinical setting performing mammography procedures.

Additional certifications in advanced imaging techniques.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Responsibilities:

Perform mammographic imaging procedures on patients while ensuring their comfort and safety.

Prepare and position patients for mammography exams, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns.

Maintain and operate mammography equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.

Collaborate with radiologists to review images and assist in the diagnostic process.

Document patient information and imaging results accurately in the medical records system.

Skills:

The required skills for this role include technical proficiency in operating mammography equipment and a strong understanding of imaging protocols. Attention to detail is essential for accurately positioning patients and capturing high-quality images.
