Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our Drivetrain Systems All-Wheel Drive Engineering team. This position plays a vital role in designing and optimizing automated control systems to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop electrical and control systems for industrial automation and manufacturing.

Draft wiring diagrams and schematics for robots, controllers, tooling, and other equipment.

Design systems using hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication components.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic controls and systems.

Program and configure plant floor data interfaces and PLCs (Siemens strongly preferred).

Lead support for vision inspection systems (Keyence experience a plus).

Write technical documentation and work instructions for control processes and automation systems.

Contribute to Process Control Plans for manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure system design and installation meets all requirements.

Conduct on-site equipment testing and commissioning.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and internal safety standards. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or robotics.

Proficient in Siemens PLC & HMI programming.

Experience with Kuka Robots and Keyence Vision Systems.

Strong knowledge of industrial communication systems and equipment networking.

Skilled in AutoCAD (Electrical Design).

Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical systems.

Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. Preferred Experience:

Hands-on experience with torque screwdrivers and control panel building.

Knowledge of electrical safety and compliance standards (OSHA, NFPA 79, UL508A).

Background in drivetrain, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing environments. Additional Information:

Travel: Occasional, up to 5%.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally; must wear PPE in designated areas.
