As a Database Administrator/ Systems Engineer, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud, data center and infrastructure for multiple systems. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience with networking in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
Design and implement system architecture (hardware, software, virtualized components and network components) for cloud and on-premises environments
Plan and manage system upgrades or patching to meet business needs
Understanding the needs of stakeholders and applying these needs to designs
Implement network segmentation to enhance security and performance
Install and configure operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, macOS) and other enterprise services
Develop automation scripts (using Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to reduce manual tasks.
Install and configure storage systems (e.g. SAN, NAS) and manage data backups
Monitor system performance and availability issues and troubleshoot issues through robust root cause analysis
Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through automated configuration management and infrastructure as code activities
Manage firewalls, encryption and antivirus software to protect systems and ensure compliance with industry regulations
Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members.
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
3 Years of Experience developing/ administering/ securing transactional or analytical databases in MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or MariaDB
3 Years of Experience with Azure managed SQL Instance
In-depth knowledge of T-SQL, MySQL/mariaDB or PL/SQL querying
Knowledge of data conversion
Familiarity with connection strings / odbc / oledb interfaces for web and client applications
Familiarity with Azure Data Explorer, SQL Server Management Studio, MySQL Workbench, SQL Developer or other development packages- Knowledge of SSL encryption of SQL data and connections
3 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment
3 Years of Experience with scripting using Python, Bash or PowerShell
3 Years of Experience installing, configuring and optimizing Windows and Linux systems
3 Years of Experience supporting patch management, vulnerability analysis, and disaster recovery.

Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
