Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe operations, ensuring production meets specifications, and performing various machining operations. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Observe and maintain specifications during drilling, boring, tapping, grooving, cutting, milling, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.

Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.

Keep accurate counts and production records.

Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.

Verify settings by measuring positions, first run parts, and sample work pieces.

Select raw materials needed for production and load them into the machine accordingly.

Enter job specification sizes and shapes of the products into the machine for optimal operation.

Inspect all finished goods, ensuring maintenance of production quality and standards.

Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, performing basic preventative maintenance.

Strictly adhere to client job specifications and ensure quality in production.

Perform any other duties required by management.Essential Skills

1-2 years of CNC Mill experience preferred.

Ability to interpret G and M codes, make offsets, and necessary edits to the program.

Ability to read blueprints.

Working knowledge of mechanical devices.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and interdependently.

Proven history of working with gauges and calipers.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with CNC programming and setup.

Familiarity with tooling and machine tool operations.

Experience with axis mill and axis lathe operations.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

We have openings on both the 1st and 2nd shifts. The 1st shift runs from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with a flexible start time of 6:00 am if needed. The 2nd shift is from 3:00 pm to 1:00 am, Monday to Thursday. A bit more experience is preferred for the 1st shift, while the 2nd shift is more suitable for entry to mid-level candidates.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
