SmartTalent is seeking a mid-level CAD Designer with geotechnical or civil engineering experience for a valued client located in Seattle, WA. Location: Seattle, WA

Pay: $35 - $50/hr DOE

Schedule: 8am – 5pm – some flexibility available

Job Responsibilities

·Prepare and revise CAD drawings including grading plans, boring logs, site plans, sections, profiles, and instrumentation layouts.

·Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of design documents.

·Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop dynamic design elements such as surfaces, alignments, profiles, and corridors.

·Assist in maintaining CAD standards and workflows under the guidance of senior staff.

·Generate engineering figures using GIS data, digital terrain models, and raster imagery.

·Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure consistency and compliance with project requirements.

·Support drafting task coordination to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

·Associate or Bachelor’s degree in CAD/Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

·4–7 years of CAD design experience, preferably in geotechnical or civil engineering.

·Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

·Familiarity with file management systems such as ProjectWise V8i and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

·Understanding of BIM workflows and computational BIM concepts.

·Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel; Access is a plus).

·Exposure to geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, BoreDM, Rocscience, GeoStudio) is desirable.

·Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Enterprise is a plus.

·Basic scripting or automation experience using Python in CAD or GIS environments is a bonus.

·General understanding of subsurface exploration and lab testing procedures.
