Position Overview:
The Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist (MT/MLS) / Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) is responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures that assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. These professionals are highly trained to conduct a wide range of diagnostic tests, analyze results, and interpret data to help clinicians make informed medical decisions. The role requires a deep understanding of laboratory technology, strict adherence to quality control standards, and the ability to troubleshoot complex laboratory instruments.

-Position Status: Full-time
-Work Schedule: 3rd shift, 40hr/wk
Education Qualifications:
MLT candidates
Required: Associate degree from a Medical Laboratory Technician program from an accredited institution, including courses in chemistry and biology; or Associate degree of at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including chemistry and biology, plus 12-month structured curriculum in medical laboratory techniques (which may have been part of collegiate course); or Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, including courses in chemistry and biology plus graduation from a military medical laboratory training program of not less than 12 months duration.
MT/MLS candidates
Required: Baccalaureate degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; completed and approved ASCP (or equivalent) certification pathway; or have satisfied CLIA requirements for HEW certification. Have completed one year in an accredited laboratory training program.
Certification Qualifications:
MLT Candidates
Required: Eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT), HEW, or CLS (NCA) or equivalent required for individuals having completed certification requirement in 2004 or later.
Recommended: Registry within 12 months of completion of school/training or equivalent education documentation per CLIA standards
Individuals qualified for certification prior to December 31, 2003, are not required to maintain yearly certification.
MT/MLS Candidates
Required: Certification eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), HEW, or CLS (NCA) or equivalent required. For individuals having completed certification requirements in 2004 or later
Preferred: Certification within 12 months of completion of school/training or equivalent education documentation per CLIA standards
Individuals qualified for certification prior to December 31, 2003, are not required to maintain yearly certification.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $20.41 - 38.56 per hour.
