Job Description
Randstad is seeking an experienced Operations Enterprise Architect to support a leading transportation client in Washington, DC. This strategic role will focus on shaping and governing the enterprise architecture that underpins operational systems across a complex, mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain experience in rail or transportation, broad technical expertise across application, data, and infrastructure layers, and a strong ability to collaborate with senior IT leadership to align technology with operational strategy. This role requires a mix of business acumen, technical leadership, and architecture governance capabilities, with a particular emphasis on event-driven architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with senior IT and business leaders to define and align enterprise architecture strategy with operational objectives
Provide architectural oversight across operational domains, ensuring systems are scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise standards
Drive the design and adoption of modern architectural patterns, with a focus on event-driven architectures
Collaborate across IT functions (application development, infrastructure, data) to deliver integrated, business-aligned solutions
Apply deep domain expertise in rail or transportation systems to inform technology decisions and system integrations
Lead architecture governance processes, including documentation, review boards, and adherence to standards
Develop and maintain target state architectures and roadmaps for operational platforms
Assess emerging technologies and recommend their fit within the operational landscape
Support cross-functional teams in evaluating legacy modernization and digital transformation opportunities
