Job Overview
The usRDC System Operator will be responsible for monitoring tote computer operations and normal day end reports as well as the monitoring of the hardware terminal events providing notifications to onsite technicians. This position is for a rotating shift - must be available days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities & Duties
Responsible for input of all information to the system, and for making any manual adjustments required insuring that the system operates properly;
Perform daily system start and stop and session management;
Manage content for all customers that are wagering customers on a particular Quantum system after loading the appropriate content daily;
Customer support for wagering content;
Responsible for opening up wagers and locking out wagers by customer;
Responsible for manual merge procedures in the absence of the Totalisator Manager;
Works indirectly with the Mutuels Supervisor to ensure receipt of necessary reports from Global Tote;
Responsible for operating Video Information Console to enter on-going changes;
Initiates and maintains inter track connectivity (ITSP links) for purposes of data and pool transfer; Monitors them subsequently for timely pool merging
Loads horseracing race card information in multiple sites and mobile devices;
Continually monitors site activity to ensure accuracy, identify error conditions;
Updates site-specific data points;
Troubleshoots customer and consumer-facing issues from phone, email or chat;
Escalates to development team when necessary;
Maintains logs of all issues and contacts;
Monitors site usage and performance;
Monitors terminal events and notifies on site technicians for resolution
Performs quality control reviews of new production deployments.
Works on the Slack platform with judges/stewards to close races as part of Remote Ontrack Operations.
Manually assist with scratching runners and other relevant information now provided by on-course operators
Enter finish results and calculate dividends and go official
Confirm imports are connected and ready to transfer data
Perform operational duties for the eBet, G1, G4 systems which include content management and other customer service functions Qualifications & Experiences
Strong phone, computer and data entry skills with demonstrated attention to detail
Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with end users
Technical writing and test scripting skills
Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities
Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting;
Familiarity with SQL query writing, a plus;
Familiarity with the Horseracing industry, a plus;
Comply with applicable state, provincial and federal regulations;
High school diploma or equivalent;
Must be authorised to work in the United States; and
Applicants will need to pass a thorough background screening and drug test.
Must be capable of obtaining appropriate gaming and racing licenses as required by regulators.
Must be available on weekends and holidays.
