Role Overview
As an Onboarding (KYC/KYB) Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customers joining the Prune platform are verified, risk-assessed, and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements. You’ll be responsible for executing due diligence checks for both individuals (KYC) and businesses (KYB), working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless, compliant onboarding experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Due Diligence (CDD) & Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
Review and verify identity documents, business records, beneficial ownership, and control structures for individuals and entities.
Perform risk-based onboarding reviews for new customers and partners across various jurisdictions.
Assess customer risk profiles and determine whether enhanced due diligence is required.
Identify and escalate high-risk cases (e.g., PEPs, adverse media, complex ownership structures).
Ensure all onboarding activities comply with AML/CTF, sanctions, and regulatory frameworks, including FATF, FCA, CBN, and relevant local standards.
Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation of onboarding decisions and risk assessments.
Screening & Risk Assessment
Conduct sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening using third-party tools.
Investigate screening hits and apply a risk-based approach to resolve or escalate.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Sales, Product) for onboarding exceptions or clarifications.
Assist in periodic reviews and re-certifications of existing customers.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
Contribute to the refinement of KYC/KYB workflows, templates, and internal playbooks.
Provide input into system enhancements and automation opportunities.
Support internal and external audits or regulatory reviews as needed.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in KYC/KYB onboarding, CDD/EDD, or financial crime compliance within fintech, banking, or regulated financial institutions.
Strong understanding of global AML/CTF regulations and KYC requirements.
Familiarity with company structures, UBO identification, and cross-border documentation requirements.
Experience with onboarding platforms and compliance tools (e.g., ComplyAdvantage, Alloy, Sumsub, WorldCheck, iComply, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills.
Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience onboarding customers in high-risk sectors or emerging markets.
Knowledge of crypto, neobank, or B2B fintech onboarding risks and controls.
Familiarity with regulatory regimes such as FATF, EU AMLDs, OFAC, MAS, and CBN.
