Job Title: QC/GC Analyst

Reports To: Division Manager

FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT

Position Summary:

The QC/GC Analyst is responsible for conducting analytical testing using Gas Chromatography and other laboratory techniques to ensure the quality and compliance of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Control department.

Key Responsibilities:

Must have a keen sense of smell with the ability to detect olfactive difference in incoming raw materials, intermediates and finished goods.

Operate and maintain Gas Chromatography (GC) instruments (e.g., GC-FID, GC-MS) in accordance with established procedures.

Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.

Interpret chromatographic data, identify peaks, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.

Conduct additional laboratory tests such as refractive index, specific gravity, flashpoint and other routine QC analyses.

Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.

1–3 years of laboratory experience in a QC or analytical chemistry environment preferred.

Proficiency with GC instruments; experience with GC-MS and related analytical tools is a plus.

Solid understanding of chemical principles and laboratory best practices.

Knowledge of GMP/GLP regulations and documentation requirements.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.

Manual dexterity to operate laboratory instruments and handle small sample sizes.

Work Environment:

Laboratory and production floor environment with regular exposure to chemicals, odors, and noise typical of manufacturing operations.Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
