Moses Weitzman Health System is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In

this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all network systems throughout their lifecycle. You will lead efforts to design, deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor critical network infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings a strong commitment to operational excellence and follows standardized, repeatable processes to support scalable and resilient network operations. This position plays a key role in safeguarding our health system’s infrastructure by identifying and resolving issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction to Network team members in coordination with IT management

Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and resilient LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructures, including routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, and firewalls

Manage the lifecycle of all network hardware and software, overseeing upgrades, replacements, and patching efforts

Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and contractors to evaluate, procure, and maintain network solutions and services

Configure and optimize network systems to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance operations that align with organizational goals

Monitor network health, analyze performance metrics, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity

Conduct research on emerging technologies, protocols, and best practices to keep the network environment current and effective

Ensure reliable connectivity for all IT infrastructure components, including servers, workstations, VoIP systems, fax devices, and other networked equipment

Maintain accurate documentation of network hardware, software, configurations, and topology

Produce regular reports on network performance, capacity planning, and incident resolution

Participate in managing and implementing network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems

Conduct security audits and support backup and recovery processes

Mentor and support junior staff within the Network and Cybersecurity teams

Collaborate with department leaders to assess and plan for short- and long-term network infrastructure needs

Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to network operations, security, and disaster recovery

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of 6 years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification

Experience leading or mentoring a network team or junior administrators

Proficiency with Fortinet, SolarWinds, F5, Cloudflare, AWS, and Cisco Catalyst & Nexus technologies

Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN design and implementation

Proven ability to manage ISP relationships, circuit provisioning, migrations, and monitoring

Experience working in regulated environments such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS

Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks including NIST CSF, HITRUST, and CIS Controls

Preferred:

Advanced certifications such as Cisco CCIE, Fortinet NSE, or AWS Advanced Networking

Experience with virtualized networks, network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), or hybrid cloud infrastructure

Previous experience in healthcare or similarly regulated industries

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This role involves a combination of activities, including extended periods of computer work, walking within facilities, and occasional stair climbing

Minimal lifting and carrying of equipment or materials may be required

Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support scheduled maintenance or respond to urgent issues

Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours network support is required

Must be able to effectively interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including organizational leadership, clinical providers, staff, clients, vendors, and external partners

Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines

High attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
