KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Design and implement firmware for embedded systems while driving design reviews and best practices

Lead cross-functional discussions, mentor junior engineers, and translate product needs into effective design implementations

Develop, maintain, and support embedded firmware on microcontroller and ARM based processor designs.

Build and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support product innovation from design through deployment

Write well-documented, testable, and efficient code using best software practices.

Work with test and integration teams to define and create test algorithms and procedures for new and existing designs.

Support integration of new or revised firmware and hardware.

Identify and recommend development process improvements to ensure technical performance and maintain quality and reliability.

Build software support tools for embedded devices to enable efficient firmware updates, provision hardware, retrieve status details and log relevant data.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years’ embedded firmware development experience.

Strong expertise in C/C++ with demonstrated proficiency in multi-threading, multi-process programming, and microcontroller development for real time applications

Experience with typical embedded peripherals and their configuration and use

Experience utilizing electrical schematics for digital designs and device datasheets to support code development.

Experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and supporting manufacturing and field operations

Working familiarity with various communications protocols – TCP/IP, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS485.

Ability to work in a Linux environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.

Ability to work both independently and within team environments.

Fluent with Microsoft Office 365, Jira, Confluence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with FGPAs and GPUs.

Experience working with RTOSs such as FreeRTOS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
