IT Intern

Job Description

Predicine is a precision medicine company committed to advancing genomic testing solutions for global drug development and personalized cancer care. Our IT team supports cutting-edge technologies in high-performance computing (HPC), cloud platforms, data center infrastructure and enterprise applications.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our IT Support team. This internship offers hands-on experience with the deployment, management, and support of enterprise-level IT systems and applications, HPC clusters, and data center operations.

What you will get to do:

Provide routine hardware and software support for users.

Assist with setup, configuration, and maintenance of HPC clusters and servers.

Perform routine data center operations including hardware installation, cabling, racking, and troubleshooting.

Support internal users and IT team with infrastructure or application-related issues.

Monitor system performance, logs, and perform diagnostics.

Participate in system upgrades, patching, and security reviews.

Document processes, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Occasionally provide support during after-hours maintenance or outages.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information

Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and basic shell scripting.

Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

Experience or interest in HPC environments and systems administration.

Ability to lift and install server hardware in data center racks or move equipment.

Availability to work onsite in Hayward, CA.

Preferred Skills:

Previous internship or hands-on experience in IT support.

Exposure to data center monitoring tools.

Basic understanding of virtualization and cloud technologies.
