The Program Coordinator - Code Enforcement Division is responsible for coordinating assigned department programs.

Essential Job Functions

Plan, organize and coordinate City Code Compliance activities and programs in accordance with State and federal laws, and City codes to assure the efficient, effective, and timely completion of activities.

Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.

Conduct technical and policy research and analysis on a variety of local and regional compliance issues.

Prepares and maintains records and reports for internal and external purposes.

In conjunction with the Code Compliance Manager, prepare, propose, and implement code enforcement policies, procedures, and ordinances; Maintain current knowledge of code enforcement trends.

Manages participation on special projects which may be short terms as designated by the City.

Leads complex, multi-faceted projects with high public visibility or involvement by multiple parties.

Performs a variety of research and information-gathering assignments for local governmental departments and agencies; completes a variety of statistical and research studies.

Coordinates and provides training to end-users for all departmental software, acts as a liaison between department, IT department, software vendors, and end users.

Project planning and development by conducting research, studies, memorandum, meeting minutes and project status reports.

Leads technically complex planning projects, including the interpretation and local implementation of federal or state legislation and guidelines.

Interprets plans and programs for the general public; participates in updating comprehensive plans; carries out a program of technical assistance to neighborhood groups and businesses in matters affecting their neighborhoods and businesses.

Provide public outreach and education on Code Compliance. Provide information and assistance to City departments and employees, citizens, businesses, and community groups to achieve established goals and objectives. Attend community meetings as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or a major of related assigned department; with two (2) years of experience in program management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Requires the ability to work independently, prepare and deliver presentations, compile, organize and analyze data, and strong computer skills.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: The Department Administrator assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.

GUIDELINES: Guidelines include city procurement procedures, budget procedures, and reporting requirements. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.

COMPLEXITY: The work consists of varied administrative duties. The need to coordinate activities with multiple groups and individuals contributes to the complexity of the position.

SCOPE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this position is to coordinate assigned programs.

PERSONAL CONTACTS: Contacts are typically with co-workers, members of the general public, educators, elected and appointed officials, and members of community organizations.

PURPOSE OF CONTACTS: Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, provide services, and resolve problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed in an office or outdoors. The employee may be exposed to occasional cold or inclement weather.
