Job Title: Estimator
1st shift M-F 7am-3:30pm
Job Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for construction projects, manufacturing processes, or other business operations. This role involves analyzing project requirements, reviewing blueprints, and sourcing prices for materials, labor, and equipment. The Estimator ensures that the company submits competitive bids while maintaining profitability and meeting client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential issues.
Source vendors and suppliers for materials and services, negotiating prices and delivery schedules.
Prepare and present bids for projects, ensuring they align with the company’s cost structure and client expectations.
Analyze and interpret data from previous projects to help inform estimates.
Monitor changes during the project’s development and adjust estimates as necessary.
Ensure that estimates are submitted within deadlines and in accordance with project specifications.
Maintain an organized database of cost data for future reference and benchmarking.
Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding cost estimates, schedules, and scope changes.
Qualifications:
Experience with putting together conveyor system quotes for customers.
Proven experience as an Estimator in a relevant industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and labor costs (if in construction).
Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
[Optional] Certification in estimating (e.g., AACE, ASPE) is a plus.
