Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Outpatient Addiction Counselor to work our Evening Outpatient Program. The Addiction Counselor will provide high-quality clinical services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing fluctuating caseloads in a fast-paced outpatient setting while maintaining fidelity to ethical standards and clinical best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counseling services to clients enrolled in outpatient addiction treatment programs.

- Manage a fluctuating caseload while maintaining timely and accurate documentation in compliance with agency, state, and funding guidelines.

- Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and individualized treatment plans.

- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and adjust treatment goals as clinically appropriate.

- Facilitate relapse prevention, life skills, and recovery education groups.

- Collaborate with internal team members, referral sources, and external providers to coordinate care.

- Participate in weekly clinical supervision, staff meetings, and training sessions.

- Maintain client records in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

- Required: CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or equivalent state certification/licensure.

- Preferred: Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance use treatment, including outpatient settings.

- Demonstrated ability to manage large and diverse caseloads effectively.

- Strong understanding of DSM-5, ASAM criteria, and evidence-based treatment modalities.

- Proficiency in electronic documentation systems

- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

- Experience working with diverse populations and culturally competent practices. Work Environment:
