Preferred Experience: 3-5 years of direct experience in graphic design or production; proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Education Required: Baccalaureate Degree in graphic design or related field.
Overtime Status: Exempt, not eligible for overtime
FTE and Benefits: 1.0 FTE and eligible for full employment benefits

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graphic Designer of the Montana State University Alumni Foundation (Alumni Foundation) is primarily responsible for assisting in developing visual materials for various platforms, including digital and print media, collateral, large-format print, and web. As a member of the Strategic Communications department, the Graphic Designer works to produce designs that effectively convey the desired message to a target audience. The Graphic Designer works collaboratively with, among others, writers, social media managers, and event planners to aid in the promotion and awareness-building of the Alumni Foundation to multiple audiences, including alumni, donors, friends of Montana State University (University), and community members. The Graphic Designer reports to the Assistant Vice President of Creative Services (Assistant VP).
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team to develop concepts and designs for print and digital media, such as brochures, websites, social media graphics, and email campaigns.
Assist in creating visually appealing designs and effectively communicating information to the target audience, utilizing the Alumni Foundation brand and following brand standards in developing all creative pieces.
Modify and revise existing designs to meet team members needs or to improve design quality.
Participate in various design projects from concept to completion, producing drafts, prototypes, and engaging design solutions.
Affect and maintain a professional, proactive, positive, highly collaborative, and performance-centric work environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant VP.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Complete respect for confidentiality.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Familiarity with design techniques, including prototyping and layout design.
Strong understanding of visual elements like layout, typography, and color theory.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while achieving a high level of accuracy.
