CNC Mill Lead Machinist

Job Description

HiFyve is hiring a CNC Lead Mill Machinist in the Precision Manufacturing industry in Kansas City, MO!

Salary: Up to $40/hr

Shift: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Location: Kansas City, MO

Key Responsibilities:

Develop programs using MasterCam for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling centers.

Program and plan setup of CNC vertical and horizontal machines, including Fanuc-controlled 5-axis machines.

Interpret technical drawings and create efficient, quality-driven machine paths.

Design fixtures and develop repeatable processes to support high-precision manufacturing.

Perform setup and inspection to verify conformance to specifications.

Adjust programs and tooling to optimize production output and quality.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives for existing parts and processes.

Train and support machinists in programming, setup, and best practices.

Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic maintenance.

Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding job status, changes, and priorities.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and uphold safety and quality standards.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience with MasterCam and 5-axis milling.

Strong background in both manual and automated machining processes.

Proficient in reading blueprints, GD&T, and using precision measuring instruments.

Deep knowledge of metals, plastics, and material machinability.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Solid math and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Self-motivated with a positive, problem-solving mindset.

Available for overtime and weekend work as needed.
