Accounting Manager

Job Description

A privately held 30 year old building material supplier located in West Palm Beach is looking for Accounting Manager to focus on Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, and Cash Application to join their team and grow into a Controller role. This position will have two direct reports and a dotted line to six AR specialists who report to the credit manager.

What You'll Be Doing:

Oversee the application of invoices and incoming customer payments to the general and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts.

Partner with finance, sales, and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and optimize cross-functional processes.

Develop, implement, and enforce standardized policies and procedures to promote accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance across all business units.

Collaborate with the Digital Transformation Team to design and manage the end-to-end Quote to Cash process within the IFS ERP system during the company’s migration.

Manage exceptions related to invoicing, credit issuance, and purchase orders.

Perform analysis and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts.

Maintain precise financial records and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of staff accountants to promote professional development and team efficiency.

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs); deliver regular updates on billing, collections, and cash application metrics to senior management.

Ensure ongoing adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal company policies.Experience You Bring to the Table:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting

5+ Years of Experience in Accounting

Strong in GAAP and Financial Reporting
