Under the direction of the Service Desk & Device Manager, this position’s primary role is to perform complex configurations and maintenance of Audio Visual (AV) equipment and to provide advanced technical support to users.

The essential functions and duties listed below are intended as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.

Sets up and manages AV equipment for complex events and/or productions with audio/video mixing, live streaming, or similar technology.

Performs advanced AV configurations and systems support, as directed.

Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues related to AV hardware and software.

Responds to help-desk tickets escalated from Tier 1 and/or complex cases.

Assists with planning, designing, and implementing technical projects related to AV systems, software, and network infrastructure.

Assists with triaging and assigning helpdesk tickets to appropriate technical staff.

Provides training and support to AV Technician I’s.

Works cooperatively with external vendors to ensure proper repair or service of equipment.

Collaborates and assists other members of the IT department to ensure the smooth operation of systems and equipment.

Documents service activity.

Receives and transports equipment, as assigned.

Performs all other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Five years of prior experience working with AV technology for classrooms, offices and/or auditorium/ performance spaces. An Associate’s Degree in a related field can be substituted for two years of prior experience. Extron certification is preferred.

Abilities & Knowledge:

Troubleshooting, analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to follow policy and procedures.

Ability to engage in effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, while demonstrating respect for their differences.
