Tahanto Regional Middle-High School Berlin-Boylston Regional School District Overview: The Berlin-Boylston Regional School District consists of three schools—two elementary schools and one middle-high school—serving the towns of Berlin and Boylston, Massachusetts.
Tahanto Regional Middle-High School, with an enrollment of approximately 500 students in Grades 6–12, is a dynamic and supportive learning community committed to fostering academic excellence and personal growth.
As a key member of the school leadership team, the Assistant Principal works closely with the Principal, Special Education Coordinator, school psychologist, adjustment counselor, and guidance department to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.

Minimum Qualifications: - Current Massachusetts licensure as a middle/high school principal/assistant principal, including SEI endorsement as recognized by DESE - Master’s degree required - At least five years of teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level - Previous experience as a principal or assistant principal preferred - Demonstrated leadership in a public school setting - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage staff, students, families, and community members - Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and school management procedures - Experience with IEPs and 504 plans - Capacity to design, implement, and consistently enforce a school-wide disciplinary system - Trained in educator evaluation and supervision protocols - Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable Preferred Attributes: -Demonstrated commitment to the academic and personal success of Tahanto students and families -A positive, collaborative, and student-centered approach to leadership -Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, students, and stakeholders -Passion for fostering a culture of continuous improvement Responsibilities and Duties: - Support the implementation of the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals in collaboration with the Principal - Provide instructional leadership and support for curriculum planning, assessment, and teacher development - Assist with the coordination and oversight of student services, including discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions - Oversee student safety and building operations in collaboration with administrative and support staff - Participate in the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans - Lead or assist in the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff in accordance with district guidelines - Support school-wide initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and student engagement - Communicate regularly and effectively with students, staff, families, and the wider community - Serve as a visible and accessible presence during school hours, extracurricular activities, and school events - Collaborate with the guidance department and counseling staff to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs - Manage crisis situations in alignment with school and district protocols Salary: To be negotiated with the Superintendent of Schools, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
