Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
Proven proficiency in 3D modeling software, with advanced skills in SolidWorks being a key requirement.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating within a custom metal fabrication environment (sheet metal, machining, welding, etc.).
Strong understanding of various metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, and finishing.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T knowledge is a plus).
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external customers.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
3D solidworks experience
Experience taking shop drawings and converting them to 3D.
Quoting and helping sales team Quote projects. Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
Develop detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, tooling, and outside services.
Create and manipulate 3D models using SolidWorks to accurately define part geometry, identify potential manufacturing challenges, and support the quoting process.
Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering during the estimation process.
Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials and specialized processes.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
Participate in review meetings to discuss estimates with internal stakeholders and customers.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and manufacturing technologies.
Assist in the development and improvement of estimation tools and processes
