Mechanical Designer/Drafter - Solidworks

Selectek is seeking a CAD Designer to join our clientsâ team and provide drafting and design support across multiple departments. In this role, you will use CAD systems (primarily SolidWorks and AutoCAD) to create detailed layouts, part drawings, assembly drawings, and diagrams for sheet metal products. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical aptitude, solid drafting skills, and the ability to translate concepts into accurate and production-ready drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and revise detailed multi-view production drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Prepare layout, detail, and assembly drawings for manufacturing use

Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to produce manufacturing documentation

Apply knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, design practices, and material behavior

Collaborate with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and feasible designs

Communicate effectively regarding revisions, updates, and technical issues

Ensure drawings include necessary dimensions, views, and annotations

Use Microsoft Office and general computer skills for documentation and communication Requirements:

1â 5+ years of CAD experience using SolidWorks (AutoCAD a plus)

1â 5+ years of experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment

Ability to read and understand architectural and mechanical drawings

Proficient in basic math and geometry; mechanically inclined

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with standard drafting techniques and design terminology

Technical capacity and attention to detail Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00/hr

Term: 6-month temp to perm
