Description
SAIC is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer (MSE) located at Ford Island, Hawaii to support USINDOPACOM at the KMT-PWC to install, configure, operate and maintain Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software, applications, and systems across all KMT-PWC enclaves by supporting and building Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training environments.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Collaborate with Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Planners to design and refine M&S architectures for each exercise
Work with LVC planners to integrate MSE test objectives into test plans and execute test events
Update the Daily Event Log to track and document key exercise activities and issues
Build M&S federations and infrastructures, collaborating with distant-end technical POCs
Submit firewall Baseline Change Requests (BCRs) and track their progress
Stand up and configure M&S servers based on exercise requirements
Prepare and conduct Event Operational Tests (EOTs) and Event Functional Tests (EFTs)
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with other PWC sections, INDOPACOM directorates, and SMEs to ensure that training objectives are met
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), delivering M&S/C4I solutions to LVC-related issues during live exercises
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and five (5)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
Experience in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell and Red Hat / Linux operating systems
Experience with orchestration tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, or Docker Swarm
Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Strong technical skills in server management, networking, and system administration
Ability to create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
Must have an Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TSSCI clearance
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
