Business Technology Integrators (BTI) located in Suburban Washington DC, We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Network Engineer to support operations at Cavalier Space Force Station (SFS). The ideal candidate will assist in the planning, implementation, and daily operations of network services and systems, including both hardware and virtual environments. This role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Base Area Network (BAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructures, supporting mission-critical communications for a secure and dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and management of BAN and LAN systems and subsystems.
Analyze, test, and troubleshoot network infrastructures for reliability and performance.
Support wireless planning activities including heatmap generation and access point placement.
Configure wireless controllers and assist in LAN system scaling and distribution.
Perform regular maintenance on network devices to ensure minimal downtime.
Implement network security protocols and assist with system optimization efforts.
Research and provide recommendations for network hardware and software upgrades.
Monitor and maintain data network performance baselines.
Work with the Lead Network Engineer to document and deploy network designs and end-user integrations.
Assist with technical investigations and resolution of network system issues.
Participate in consolidated design efforts for major infrastructure projects.Required Qualifications:
4 – 6 years of relevant networking experience (can include military, civilian, or contractor roles).
Active CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification.
BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, OR a combination of education, technical training, certifications, and work/military experience.
Active Secret Security Clearance (must be current and verifiable).Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with DoD or Space Force IT environments.
Understanding of enterprise wireless networks and LAN/WAN architectures.
Ability to follow structured design and documentation processes.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Work Environment:
This is a 100% on-site role located at Cavalier Space Force Station, ND 58220. Candidates must be comfortable working in a secure government environment and supporting mission-critical systems.
