JR. TRANSIT SCHEDULER

SALARY: $21.30/hr-$26.62/hr

The Jr. Transit Scheduler supports the development and maintenance of public transit schedules. This role involves using scheduling software, analyzing service data and coordinating with staff to ensure efficient and reliable transit operations.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework preferred. One to three years of experience in transit, scheduling or data analysis recommended. Valid Driver’s License is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Trapeze, Vontas or TransTrack is a plus.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the Scheduling Manager in creating and maintaining transit schedules using Trapeze software, ensuring compliance with union agreements and organizational policies.

• Work collaboratively with the Transit Planner and Bus Stop Program Coordinator to support service design and delivery.

• Analyze data on ridership, travel patterns and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize service delivery.

• Communicate scheduling deadlines to internal and external stakeholders and track task completion.

• Review and proof draft ride guides to ensure accuracy in route and schedule changes. • Conduct field surveys and collect data directly from Route Operators.

•Participate in public outreach efforts and complete additional duties or special projects as assigned.
