At Boxman Studios, we design and build modular structures that stand out. We're looking for a Financial Controller who brings precision to the numbers and strategy to the table. In this key leadership role, you'll oversee all financial operations ensuring that budgets align with business goals, reports are rock-solid, and decisions are driven by data. As the company scales, your insights will directly shape our growth and help ensure that every project is both creatively bold and financially sound.
Additionally, the Financial Controller will lead the Human Resources function, ensuring that both financial and people operations are aligned, compliant, and support company-wide performance and culture goals.
What You'll Do:
Lead financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
Own month-end and year-end close processes and deliver timely, accurate financial reports
Track project costs and profitability partnering with operations to ensure budgets are aligned and resources are optimized
Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to support production and business growth
Oversee AP/AR, payroll, and job costing, ensuring transactions are accurate and compliant
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, leadership, and vendors to align financial goals with operational execution
Support audits and tax preparation by coordinating with outside firms and ensuring all records are in order
Identify areas for improvement in systems and processes to increase efficiency as the business scales
Manage the Human Resources Department, including HR compliance, employee records, benefits administration, and coordination of HR policies and practices
Partner with HR personnel to ensure alignment between financial planning and workforce strategy
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with strong knowledge of GAAP
Background in manufacturing, construction, or project-based environments is a big plus
Proven ability to manage budgets, job costing, and financial reporting
Experience with accounting software
Detail-oriented mindset with a strategic, problem-solving approach
Strong leadership and communication skills across finance and HR functions
Comfortable in a fast-paced, creative environment where things move quickly
Prior experience overseeing or collaborating with Human Resources is a plus
