Job Title: Automation Technician
Location: West Hazleton, PA (Onsite)
Pay: $35.50 per hour
Shift: 3rd Shift (Sun-Thurs, 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM, with weekend on-call coverage)
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to provide technical support for a manufacturing plant in West Hazleton, PA. This role starts with flexible 1st shift hours for training, transitioning to 3rd shift, and includes weekend on-call coverage in a shared rotation. Join a dynamic team and contribute to process reliability through troubleshooting, repairs, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic components, including PLCs, motors, VFDs, and vision systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to enhance process reliability.
• Design and improve control circuits using hard-wired and PLC logic (RS Logix, Ladder Logic, etc.).
• Calibrate instrumentation (flowmeters, transmitters, control valves) and coordinate with vendors for project support.
• Train and guide technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in electrical/electronics maintenance, approved apprenticeship, military equivalent, or ISA CCST Level 1 certification.
• 3-5 years of technical support/engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and PLC software (RS Logix, PanelBuilder, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code, control circuits, and network protocols (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet TCP/IP).
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and ability to operate scissors lifts.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills with a clean performance record (no more than Level 1 Corrective Action in the past 12 months).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
