Position Summary:
As a Tool & Die Maker(Molds), you’ll perform complex bench, machine, and finishing operations to maintain and enhance custom plastic injection molds and fixtures. You’ll play a key role in improving mold performance, leading training for junior staff, and working with a high-performing technical team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, layout, and execute mold maintenance work with minimal supervision.
Modify and maintain complex injection moldings and fixtures to optimize performance.
Operate and set up all Tool Room equipment and machinery.
Perform advanced machine set-ups that may require tool modifications.
Monitor and inspect mold performance and quality.
Instruct and mentor other Toolmakers, Machinists, and Technicians.
Operate forklift trucks and overhead cranes as required.
Assist in machine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
Maintain all documentation in the maintenance program.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a state sponsored Tool & Die or Mold Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent industry experience.
5+ years of related experience in tooling and plastic injection molding.
Expertise with hot runner systems and high cavitation molds.
Skilled in electrical troubleshooting
Soldering, brazing, and welding a plus.
Fork truck certification (training provided) a plus.
NC programming and CAD experience a plus.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Solid computer skills a plus.
