Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer responsible for assisting the Advanced Manufacturing and Design Group to perform design and CAD modeling of custom equipment and tooling using 3D parametric CAD software. This candidate will work directly with engineers to determine project scope and limitations and use CAD software to create 3D models (parts and assemblies) and 2D fabrication drawings.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform design and CAD modeling of equipment and large assemblies using 3D parametric CAD software
Works directly with engineers to determine project scope and limitations
Use CAD software to create 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings
Must have electronic design and/or printed circuit board (PCB) design experience
PCB designer must be able to capture a schematic in a CAD tool and translate the schematic to a circuit board design by understanding and gathering matching footprints.
Must be able to interpret electronic sketches or drawings submitted by an electrical engineer.
Generate schematic symbols or footprints from data sheets. Maintain in-house electronic symbol and footprint libraries. Design and comply with in-house procedures and standards.
Must be able to generate files for sending designs to circuit board fabricators and providing quality control for receipt of fabricated circuit boards.
An electronic diagram/component design candidate must be knowledgeable of producing electronic block, connection, interconnection, and schematic diagrams.
Electronic designers will be required to design chassis and component rack assemblies.
Will be required to provide record documentation per in-house procedures and guidelines for drawings.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma + 2 yrs of relevant experience
For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Engineering Graphics or Industrial Design
Experience with CREO
Experience with Altium
Experience with Microstation
Experience with OrCad
