Custodian- Team Leadrn rnSUMMARYrnThis position is designated as essential staff.
The Facilities Team presence at work is required regardless of the degree to which the College is operational, while open or closed, essential staff are required to report for work at any time their function is necessary to maintain or protect the physical well-being of the campus community.
The Custodian Team Leader will work to lead, instruct, and train the custodian team to maintain a clean and healthy work environment of all CCAD buildings and property.
rnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:rnUnderstand the custodial needs of the entire campus and distributes the work load in an equitable and efficient manner.
rnAssists in training the custodians to complete their tasks satisfactorily.
rnAudits the custodian team's work and ensures the customers' needs are being met.rnAssists in providing oversight and retraining for any course correction needed of a team member.rnAssists with auditing inventory of supplies.
rnAssists in redistributing the work load or fills in when a custodian team member calls off or is on vacation.
rnAssists in coordinating the custodian team should an emergency happen requiring their services.
rnRemove trash in classrooms, laboratories, administrative areas and hallways.rnSweep and mop designated areas.rnClean and restock restrooms.rnVacuum carpeted areas.rnClean glass surfaces indoors and partitions as needed.rnDust vertical/horizontal surfaces, tables, desks, and shelves in administrative areas.rnInventory and stock supply areas.rnAssist with light maintenance as assigned i.e.: replacing light bulbs or a ceiling tile, helping to clean a work site, etc.
These are examples and not an exhaustive list.rnAssist with preventative maintenance to walks, drives, and parking lots, including snow and ice removal.
rnMaintain outside areas of campus and remove trash and debris.rnPerform other duties as assigned.rnAssist with special events in the evenings and on weekends as needed.rnQUALIFICATIONS rnTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

rnrnPrevious leadership experience with a proven track record of developing team member's skillsets.rnrnrnThorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures while using chemicals, power tools, hand tools and equipment.rnrnrnKnowledge of proper lifting techniques and the ability to operate equipment.
(i.e., carpet cleaner)rnrnrnAbility to use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely.rnrnrnAbility to learn and apply proper cleaning procedures and use of equipment and supplies.rnrnrnThorough working knowledge of facility equipment, their usage, and safety procedures.rnrnrnMust be able to work a flexible schedule, overtime as needed for special projects and events.

rnrnrnThorough knowledge of snow and ice removal.rnrnEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCErnHigh school diploma or equivalent required.rnMinimum of 1 year related experience.rnLANGUAGE SKILLSrnAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications.
