DEPARTMENT: Youth and Family Services DATE: 04/2025

REPORTS TO: Youth and Family Services Assistant Director

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Manager to lead and oversee a transformative program designed to empower minority girls and boys through education, mentorship, and leadership development. The Program Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of program initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission to foster confidence, academic success, and personal growth among participants.

Job Functions:

Supervises all Girls and Boys on the Rise personnel, including, but not limited to, group facilitators, contractors and interns. Fosters positive relationships through trust, teamwork, and effective communication.

Oversees multiple groups throughout the school year, including facilitating groups. Adheres to the established curriculum while adapting and expanding it to meet the unique needs of students in each group.

Develop relationships and partnerships with new and current schools interested in providing the program to their students in the Oak Park and River Forest communities.

Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness, implementing improvements based on feedback and data-driven insights.

Secure funding opportunities, including grant writing and sponsorship outreach, to sustain and expand the program.

Organizes parent outreach, including parent nights and monthly newsletter, designed to promote strong parent engagement and support.

Ensure program compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements.

Serve as a strong advocate for minority girls and boys, addressing challenges and creating opportunities for their growth and success.

Provide referrals and resources, as needed, to youth participates and families.

Monitors budgetary expenditures for all program materials and assist in developing narratives/justifications used in budgetary process as required.

Creates supply orders and submits them to the appropriate parties for approval and processing

Initiate and maintain in contact (via phone, email or in person) with parents/guardians, school district personnel

Participates in community outreach with the Youth and Family Services team based on the needs of partnering agencies and youth in Oak Park and River Forest.

Keeps Assistant Director informed in regard to community issues and sensitive topics.

Participate in weekly supervision with Youth Services Assistant Director and participate in weekly Youth and Family Services Team Meetings. Attend and participate in any Township’s supervisory team meetings.

Minimal Qualifications:

Possession of a minimum of a master's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral or social science (social welfare, sociology, psychology, counseling, guidance, social work, etc.)

A minimum of 2-year prior experience working with youth as a Program Facilitator and experience cultivating partnership with community-based and/or school leaders.

Proven experience working with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.

Education:

Master’s (Required)

Knowledge of:

Must be self-directed, detail oriented with proven written and oral communication skills, as well as group facilitation skills.

Interpersonal relationships with the ability to relate effectively and work collaboratively with youth, families, and professionals.

Must be a high-energy, caring, self-starter, innovative and have high level of competency in cultural diversity.

Ability To:

Ability to effectively maintain information for recording purposes and standards of record keeping

Maintain relationships with youth in program and their families

Maintains composure and remains calm in stressful and crisis situations.

Physical Abilities:

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google and Zoom.

Sit, keyboard, read, write, add, hear, and speak for extended periods.

Lift up to ten pounds on occasion.

Must have a valid driver license, reliable and consistent transportation, and the ability, to work and travel daily, between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, to various school sites or other designated areas within Oak Park and River Forest IL.
