Mechanical Design Engineer

Brief:rnTo be responsible for the conceptual and detailed design of mechanical assemblies and sub-components ensuring optimal material selection, design robustness, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.rn rnScope of Duties:rnrnDesign complete complex mechanical assemblies primarily for the automotive industry.rnDesign mechanical assembly components consisting primarily of steel, plastic, powder metal, aluminum, etc.rnProvides assembly and component drawings.rnMaintains and keeps organized drawing files.rnSupports other company functions and customers as needed.rnrn rnExperience and Qualifications Required:rnrnMinimum of BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.rnAt least 10 years of direct applicable experience with a tier 1 or tier 2 supplier to the automotive industry.rnProficient with SolidWorks, Unigraphics, or CATIA.

SolidWorks preferred.rnExperience designing underbody chassis mechanisms preferred.rnExperience complying with IATF16949 requirements as they relate to design engineering activities.rnrn rnResponsibilities:rnrnResponsible for the effective and efficient design of mechanical assemblies and components ensuring success of the organization.rnResponsible for ensuring optimal robustness of designs meeting all customer product durability requirements.rnResponsible for ensuring manufacturability of designs.rnResponsible for reducing product cost through design improvements.rnrn rnPersonal Specifications:rnrnProjects a professional image at all times.rnAble to work autonomously and takes initiative to drive continuous improvement.rnA team player who works well with others.
