CNC Milling Programmer Machinist

Job Description

Position Summary:

The CNC Milling Programmer will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for 3- to 5-axis milling machines. You will work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality control to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models to determine machining strategies

Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for efficient material removal

Set up and prove out new jobs on CNC milling machines

Work with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues

Maintain accurate documentation for programs, setups, and process improvements

Continuously evaluate and improve programming processes to reduce cycle time and improve quality

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in CNC milling programming, preferably in a job shop or high-precision environment

Strong understanding of G-code, CNC controls and machining practices

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD modelsCompany Description
