Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider at Silver Cross

Silver Cross Hosptial has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (collectively referred to as an Advanced Practice Provider or APP) to join our growing orthopedic service line. The APP, under the responsibility and supervision of the supervising physician, will provide care in a hospital-based setting including but not limited to inpatient consults and rounding, patient education and assisting in pre-operative and post-operative care. This position requires a strong understanding of orthopedic medicine, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview:

The APP will support clinical team with patient thruput and care coordination to ensure that orthopedic surgery patients at Silver Cross Hospital have a seamless, high-quality experience

The APP will provide care in the inpatient setting and will participate in committees and team education opportunities

Full-Time, 4-5 shifts per week during daytime hours

APP may have to participate in call coverage which can include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays

Position Requirements:

Masters degree from an accredited school/college of nursing program OR accredited physician assistant program

Licensed APN or PA in the State of Illinois

Controlled Substance and DEA license

Experience in Orthopedics is preferred

Electronic Medical Record proficiency

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate optimal patient care in a complex healthcare environment

Ability to get to the hospital within 60 minutes

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different surgeons
