You should expect to take on tasks outside the scope of this role in support of the mission of the DoD Cyber Crime Center, Cyber Training Academy (DC3/CTA).
Overview:
Sigmatech is seeking qualified and motivated instructors to support the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) Cyber Training Academy (CTA). This role is integral to delivering cutting-edge cyber education to Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, contributing to national cyber readiness, and advancing workforce development aligned to the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF). Instructors will deliver mission-relevant, standards-compliant instruction across multiple cyber disciplines, contribute to course development, and support continuous improvement of training programs.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, in-residence instruction in accordance with approved lesson plans, training objectives, and standards established by Higher Headquarters and PWS requirements.
Facilitate hands-on lab activities using CTA's secure cyber lab, addressing digital media exploitation, SCADA/ICS systems, wireless network forensics, and more.
Support hybrid and virtual learning modalities as required using LMS tools (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and virtual conferencing platforms.
Ensure all instruction aligns with the Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF), incorporating relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs), work roles, and mission priorities.
Assist in maintaining and updating course materials to reflect evolving technologies, threats, and cyber tradecraft.
Evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and support student learning through remediation and coaching.
Participate in curriculum reviews, pilot courses, and after-action reporting to inform iterative course improvements.
Maintain classroom discipline, student engagement, and professional decorum in accordance with DoD training standards.
Collaborate with Course Development Teams (CDTs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other instructors to support lifecycle training development and delivery.
Support training audits, evaluations, and accreditation activities (COE, DoD 8140/8570, etc.) as required.
Deliver Mobile Training Team (MTT) instruction at off-site Government or partner facilities, ensuring consistent quality of instruction, curriculum alignment, and technical support during travel-based course delivery.
Support the logistical planning, setup, and execution of MTT engagements, including coordination of travel, transport of course materials or training aids, and adaptation of content to fit host-site infrastructure and learner needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
At least three (3) years of experience delivering technical instruction or training, preferably in a DoD or law enforcement environment.
Demonstrated experience in one or more CTA-relevant domains such as digital forensics, incident response, network defense, or malware analysis.
Active DoD 8140.03-compliant certification (e.g., CEH, GSEC, GCFA, GCIH, or comparable) and knowledge of DCWF roles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to teach complex technical topics to diverse learners.
Proficiency in instructional technology platforms (e.g., LMS, virtual labs, SCORM/xAPI).
Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of a military or federal instructor training course (e.g., AFIT, Army/Air Force Basic Instructor Course, or equivalent).
Experience developing or maintaining accredited training programs.
Familiarity with current cyber range technologies and simulation tools.
Prior experience supporting DC3 or similar cyber training institutions.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $100,000 - $170,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location and often contractual requirements.
