Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Tooling Technician to be responsible for maintaining the various machine tools used in the making of COREtec Rigid flooring. This person also supports manufacturing processes by constructing and repairing dies, cutters and shearing blades.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and replace as necessary the cutting tools for the profile milling machinery
Build and maintain the die cutters for the Cut/ Pack line
Maintain and replace the cutting shears on the vinyl cutting machinery
Liaison with Manufacture and other OEM’s used throughout the Rigid Core Board manufacturing process
Maintain and perform preventive or corrective maintenance on the regrinding machinery
Plan testing to determine appropriate tool changes
Confirms parts by comparing measurements to specifications
Confirms assembly by verifying dimensions, clearances and alignment of parts and components with micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, product run-offs, etc.
Confirms the performance of dies by installing die; inspecting operation of die; making adjustments; comparing finished product to specifications.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking supplies to determine amount available; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies via the Supply Room Lead
Preferred Skills:
High-school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience as a Tool and Die Maker
Experience with milling machinery
