Controls Engineer - Food & Beverage Manufacturing

A leading food & beverage manufacturing company is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming PLCs at the machine level in a food & beverage or bottle manufacturing environment. This role is crucial in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation systems to ensure efficient production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based automation systems at the machine level.
Work with HMI, SCADA, and industrial network systems to enhance production efficiency.
Provide technical support for automation-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to implement process improvements.
Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards in control system designs.
Support commissioning and startup of new automation equipment and upgrades. Qualifications & Experience:
3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a food & beverage or bottle manufacturing environment.
Strong expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) at the machine level.
Experience with HMI development and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of industrial control systems, sensors, servos, and robotics.
Familiarity with electrical schematics, ladder logic, and automation communication protocols.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCADA, industrial networking, and control system integration.
Understanding of FDA, GMP, or food industry compliance standards.
