SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery. This role requires close coordination with scheduling, customer service, compounding, pre-weigh, and procurement teams to optimize operations and resolve issues.
Key responsibilities include verifying inventory, aligning job sizing with equipment capabilities, monitoring material usage, and tracking production metrics such as output, efficiency, and downtime. The scheduler will support forecasting, adjust schedules based on demand shifts, and recommend improvements to enhance cost, quality, and overall efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate daily, weekly, and master production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations
Serve as the central point of contact between production, procurement, sales, and other departments
Align schedules with business goals, tank capacity, staffing levels, and time constraints
Support all functions within the Scheduling department as needed
Oversee pre-weigh and compounding schedules, along with the scheduling team
Monitor production schedules and material usage to ensure optimal production flow
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and avoid disruptions
Record and analyze production metrics, including output, efficiency, downtime, waste, and labor productivity
Identify areas for improvement through data analysis and production monitoring
Assist with demand forecasting and adjust schedules as needed to meet changes in demand
Troubleshoot scheduling issues and resolve delays affecting production timelines
Recommend process optimizations, cost-saving strategies, and quality improvements
Demonstrate strong time management, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency
COMPETENCIES
Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset for solving scheduling challenges
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems a plus
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment/staffing capabilities
Requires strong working knowledge for fundamental math skills. Working knowledge of statistical methods a plus.
Experience with production scheduling, KPI/metrics development preferred
Able to perform under pressure and adapt quickly to production changes
Results-oriented and execution-focused, with a proactive, hands-on approach and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position primarily functions in a typical climate-controlled office environment. However, performance of this position does require a physical presence on the production floor at times, and therefore, will experience characteristics commonly found in a manufacturing setting. Characteristics would include (but not limited to):
frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. The base days and hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day. You may be asked to come in early or stay late on days that schedules are due for submittal
Due to the nature of this position, work will be required outside of regular business hours, including weekends, to ensure plant operations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 3 years of experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to internal partners.
Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
English language and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize.
Ability to use time effectively with proven ability to meet deadlines
WORK AUTHORIZATION
