Your new role and environment.

As an Engineer in the DDP Data Management services team, you focus on using the latest cloud technologies to architect, scale and monitor our services and products. You will be a champion of systems, infrastructure automation and security. This is a hands-on technical position. The ideal candidate has prior experience in building and managing Databases on Cloud Infrastructure that supports (data) applications striving to solve traditional operational problems through automation and software. Of course, none of this is useful unless you possess a high standard of excellence, attitude, solid written and verbal communication skills, have a strong customer focus!

Key responsibilities of your role.

Drive automation of Cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, self-service, Infrastructure-as-Code services, Auto Scale initiatives, and DevOps deployment

Contribute to infrastructure improvements, architecture, development and deployment

Provide guidance, advice to team using your strong understanding of Oracle Cloud services

Implement security baselines and standards for resources including Network access, restriction of internet-facing resource provision and configuration within the Azure and Oracle Cloud environment

Work with and support application teams in their digital transformation goals

Create observability strategies with focus on self-healing mechanisms

Collaborate with data engineering, product, and design teams to ensure that releases, internal and external, can be done easily (and retracted easily if need be)

Define and develop architectural standards that promote DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).

Requirements

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

Hands-on experience:

Oracle database administration (DBA)

Additional database technology (eg. Microsoft sql server, Azure SQL)

Oracle Cloud database Migration’s

Oracle Cloud Exadata CS setup and automation

Github/Github Actions

Writing reusable IaC for multi (stateful) environments (e.g., dev, uat, prod)

Scripting language (e.g. Ansible, Shell, Python, PowerShell, etc...)

SaaS based Observability solutions

Advise application teams on performance optimization

Advice application teams using various OCI resources and services

Cloud knowledge (Certifications from OCI and Azure side)

Proven ability to implement secure and highly available infrastructure services

A passion for advancing and continually improving our DevOps automation and practices to keep our applications easy to deploy, monitor, and scale

Proven experience in Oracle Cloud security tools such as Oracle Cloud Guard, Oracle data safe and Azure security tools such as Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault and Azure Policies

Experience with Terraform
