Learning and Development Coordinator: NYC

alts Alteration Specialists is looking for an Learning and Development Coordinator

Location: NYC (On-site, 5 days/week) Reports to: HR Director

As the Learning and Development Coordinator at alts Alteration Specialists, you'll play a key role in elevating our team's capabilities and ensuring operational excellence. You'll lead the delivery of engaging training experiences and support the development of resources that empower our staff to provide world-class service in a luxury environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for continuous learning, and a deep appreciation for our people and processes. You'll report directly to the HR Director and collaborate closely with the Client Experience Manager (CXM), Project Manager (PM), and studio leadership teams to ensure alignment across functions and locations.

Responsibilities

Onboarding

Facilitate interactive onboarding sessions for new hires and internal transfers, ensuring clarity on our values, service standards, and operational procedures.

Assist in developing onboarding materials and resources.

Collaborate with CXM and PM to align onboarding content with Alts' customer-first ethos.

Gather feedback and provide insight to refine onboarding effectiveness.

Coordinate onboarding logistics and LMS enrollment in partnership with HR.

Conduct evaluations during the onboarding process, including a 10-day check-in and one of four formal evaluations for all new hires. Supplemental Training

Act as the central point of contact for studio operations and client experience training.

Lead virtual and in-person group training sessions across our markets (NY, NJ, CT).

Support the planning and execution of company-wide training events like Learning Week.

Identify ongoing learning opportunities to enhance our luxury service experience.

Track attendance, engagement, and effectiveness of all training efforts.

Conduct studio visits to assess operational consistency and identify coaching opportunities. Resource Development

Create and maintain training content (how-to guides, videos, visual documentation) using tools like Notion, Canva, and Rippling.

Collaborate with PM and CXM to produce tailored content for specific functions.

Manage training tools such as LMS and webinar platforms.

Regularly update resources for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with brand standards. Attitude & Professionalism

4 years of experience in a customer-facing or training role, ideally in customer success, retail operations, or luxury service.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; engaging presenter.

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments.

Technologically proficient; experience with LMS platforms, Microsoft Office, Notion, Canva, and video creation/editing tools preferred.

Willing and able to work in-person at NYC HQ or Studio locations 5 days per week.

Willingness to travel locally for in-person training (NY, NJ, CT).

Startup experience or a flexible, adaptive work style is a plus.

Compensation

This role offers a competitive salary with a starting range of $50,000-$58,000 per year, based on experience. This role also requires weekend availability.
