Title: Oracle DBA with Oracle RAC Expertise

Location: NYC, NY

Rate: 1099 / C2C

Visa: USC / GC only

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Support and lead administration of Oracle database systems in clustered and high-availability environments. This role demands hands-on expertise in Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and a strong focus on performance tuning, availability, and automation.

Install, configure, and administer Oracle RAC on Linux/Unix platforms

Manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure and ASM for storage and clustering

Handle performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Implement robust backup and recovery solutions using RMAN

Support replication and DR using Oracle Data Guard

Develop and maintain Shell/Python scripts for automation

Work with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database availability and security

Monitor systems using OEM and other tools

Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation for production databases

Scheduled Hours: Monday–Friday, 7 hours/day

YOU: (Required Skills)

Are proficient in each of:

Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) – setup, management, and troubleshooting

Oracle 12c / 19c database administration

Oracle ASM and Grid Infrastructure

Oracle RMAN – full/incremental backup, restore, cloning

Oracle Data Guard – setup and maintenance

SQL and PL/SQL tuning and optimization

Linux/Unix system administration and scripting (Shell, Bash, or Python)

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

Production support experience in mission-critical environments

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

Are proficient in or have experience with:

Oracle GoldenGate for data replication

Cloud database experience (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure)

Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)

VMware for DB virtualization

ITIL practices and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira)

Security, auditing, and compliance management

Working in Agile/Scrum environments
