BAE Systems is looking for a an experienced, self-motivated Senior Systems Engineer to work on a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile, fast-paced development environment. The qualified candidate will support the development and implementation of a Space Ground mission-focused software cloud application.

Assigned tasks will include:

Perform analysis and tasks at concurrent stages to include technical planning, system design, software implementation, system integration, verification and validation.

Conducting thorough analysis of customer needs to inform project requirements

Developing Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) to outline system functionality and user interactions

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including customers and stakeholders, to ensure project alignment

Designing and preparing user interface mock-ups to visualize system layout and user experience

Creating and maintaining technical documentation in Jira and Confluence to support project knowledge sharing

Generating agile capabilities and user stories to define system features and requirements

Prioritizing and managing project backlogs to ensure efficient task allocation and resource utilization

Planning and coordinating sprints to achieve project milestones and deliverables

Engaging with customers to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure project satisfaction

Working closely with software and system test engineers to integrate and validate system componentPosition may require occasional business travel to customer locations in support of product demonstrations and customer meetings.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and Education

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and experience working with government agencies. The following requirements are essential:

Security Clearance: Top Secret security clearance is mandatory.

Technical Expertise:

Experience with TCPED processes, practices, and tools, particularly in the areas of tasking and collection, with a strong preference for SIGINT.

Familiarity with Analytics or Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) solutions.

Understanding of User Interface design and development practices.

Proficiency in Agile management tools, such as Jira.

Experience with UML/SysML modeling tools, configuration management tools, and DevSecOps tools and processes.

Experience with Government contracting in the Space market, including Ground Processing, Command and Control, and Intelligence Systems.

Knowledge of Cloud computing environments, such as AWS and Azure.

Familiarity with open, standards-based architectures, interfaces, and geospatial data.

Proven experience working on-site with customers and end users in the DoD and/or Intelligence Community.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Familiarity with DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework) is desirable.Note: The candidate should possess a strong foundation in the above-mentioned areas, with a focus on technical expertise, industry knowledge, and collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Education

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 10+ years related experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications

Proficient in requirements identification, analysis, documentation, and tracking

Proficient analyzing customer needs, and identifying user stories and technical tasks to achieve various Agile objectives and iterative development schedules

Proficient in statistical analysis methods and tools

IC3 experience preferred

Experience with system integration and test on a UNIX or Linux platform

Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment

Motivated self-starter with good problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability

Ability to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency

Demonstrated leadership skills (supervisory experience, building teams, mentoring, building customer relationships)

Ability to negotiate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammates

Strong oral and written communications skills

Good planning and organizational skills
