As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a self-starting, team player to join our Pricing team. The Pricing Estimator is responsible for developing proposals for the OEM sales channel and service contracts/renewals directly with transit agencies. They also produce project budgets for awarded business to be used by internal teams for subsequent cost analysis. In this role, pricing analysts work closely with sales personnel to develop quotes and/or proposals and enact competitive pricing strategies based on customer need, historical data, market conditions, and internal margin/revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing Accuracy: Ensuring that pricing data is accurate and up-to-date
Pricing Strategy Implementation: Implementing and maintaining pricing structures and policies.
Cost Analysis: Analyzing vendor costs, operational costs, and actuals to inform pricing decisions.
Market Research: Gathering market information, evaluating financial impact, and communicating business pricing.
Collaboration: Working with sales, marketing, and other departments to ensure pricing strategies align with business goals.
Customer Communication: Communicating pricing policies and changes to relevant stakeholders.
Data Management: Managing and organizing data related to bids, pricing decisions, and correspondence.
Price Negotiation: Assisting with cost negotiations and securing competitive pricing.
Report Generation: Running and analyzing reports to monitor pricing performance.
Discrepancy Review: Reviewing costs to lessen price discrepancies
Skills Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, or relevant work experience
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Familiarity with cost accounting principles
Exceptional critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of computer spreadsheets and word processing programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with standard business tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Internet tools such as web-based meeting services. Strong general computer skills. Ability to learn and use new software programs quickly
Strong organizational skills. Strong time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a complete and organized manner. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize work
Good interpersonal skills. Must be able to work as a member of a team and with all departments to collect the necessary information to compile pricing packages
Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to effectively articulate insights and recommend actions.
Work well under stress and manage multiple projects at one time
Solve problems under time constraints
