Position Title: Client Strategist (Hybrid - Michigan)

Compensation: $75,000-$90,000

FSLA/Position Type: Full-Time - Salary (Exempt)

Reports To: Client Experience Director

Location

Candidates must reside in Michigan in order to be considered for this role.

Position Description

The senior strategist drives brand, campaign and message strategy for communications efforts that serve the greater good. All the work we do seeks to strengthen communities and make a meaningful and measurable impact in people’s lives. You will serve as a trusted strategic adviser to clients, a thought leader in key industry categories and a partner to internal agency teams who work together to create communications that serve the greater good. This involves facilitating executive-level client partners to align on marketing goals, working with our research department to understand client data/insight needs and synthesizing research to uncover rich audience insights for the development of the communications strategy. You will work with your teams — account services, creative and paid/earned/owned media — to craft innovative and integrated communications plans. You will review high-level campaign materials, hone message strategy and review campaign performance data to optimize campaigns and provide insights for campaign reporting.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

Be a strategic partner to our clients and internal teams

Understand clients’ businesses to get to know their brands and understand their goals and objectives

Work with the research team to fill knowledge gaps and build audience insights to drive communications planning and campaign development

Lead brand development and rebrand projects from launch through implementation

Help client partners grow their internal team communications skills (capacity building)

Synthesize research to produce cohesive strategy briefs that produce insightful, successful campaigns

Guide expert agency teams in the development of integrated and innovative communications plans for diverse audiences and clients

Review campaign concepts and key campaign elements for strategic alignment

Guide the development of KPIs, review campaign performance data and provide insights for campaigns

Education & Professional Experience:

Proven work experience as a strategic planner, marketing strategist, business consultant or similar role

Demonstrable experience guiding teams in the development of effective marketing campaigns

Highly motivated self-starter; ability to dig in, identify strategic needs and lead all aspects of planning with confidence

Expert knowledge of all marketing service areas and the ability to drive and support campaign integration

Strong process orientation and commitment to continual process refinement and improvement

Public speaking and presentation experience

Experience working with education, workforce development, transportation, government/community/business leaders (ideal but not necessary)
